Governors Health Care Task Force
Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has given a seat on the Health Care Justice Act Task Force to Jan Draker, UCM Power Allies Table Chair. Jan is one of five people appointed by the Governor to the Task Force. The Task Force also includes appointees by both the Illinois House and Senate.
The Task Force is to hold meetings across the state to gather information about health care issues in Illinois and is responsible for putting forth the best health care plan for the citizens of Illinois. UCM wants to be part of this groundbreaking group. UCM wants this Task Force to set the stage as a health care model for the rest of the U.S.
Easy? NO! What is needed from UCM member churches is for people to become involved on their core teams at the church level to spread the word outside UCM and people involved on the Power Allies Table to engage other organizations to grow a power base of Metro East residents who can contribute to the discussion of how we can improve health care in the Metro East and Illinois.
