PETITION OF RESOLUTION OF THE CHURCHES, RELIGIOUS LEADERS, AND ALLIES OF ILLINOIS GAMALIEL AFFILIATES

 

TO:  PRESIDENT EMIL JONES OF THE ILLINOIS STATE SENATE

 

We the undersigned, out of concern for the well being of all citizens in Illinois respectfully insist that you recognize the desire of the majority of citizens to release SB #1592, concerning Ameren and ComEd utility rates, for debate and vote on the floor of the senate.  Only in the course of open dialogue can a resolution in the common good be both fashioned and supported by those governed.  Given that reliable and affordable sources of power are central for the quality of life and the well being of the citizenry we look to our elected officials to represent the interest of the consumer of power (homes and businesses) to fashion a solution that is immediately just and provides for the near and long term provision of this vital resource, mindful as well of the preservation of the gift of the environment.
